Membership Jurisdiction
Membership is open to any full-time or part-time musician or vocalist, working in pop, rock, country, classical, jazz, folk or any other area of music making in the jurisdiction of Local 92. If you live outside of the jurisdiction of local 92 (Buffalo area) use the Find a Local feature of the AFM web site to find a Local Musicians Union in your area.

As an AFM member, you are part of a membership of more than 80,000 musicians. The AFM has a long history of service for musicians in the United States and Canada. The AFM can negotiate agreements and administer contracts, procure valuable benefits and achieve legislative goals. No single musician has that power. Cost
Local 92 membership dues are $147.00 per year, payable as $36.75per quarter, or $142.00 per year if paid in full byJanuary 31.
New members are charged one time fees of $35.00 Local Initiation Fee and $65.00 Federation Initiation Fee.
Youth/Student Memberships are available to anyone under the age of 21 and/or full time college student. No initiation fees are charged, yet you have a full membership and benefits! A savings of $100.00!

Initiation Fees: $65.00 Federation + $35.00 Local (These are one-time-only fees which you pay upon joining)
Dues are $38.75 per quarter. If you've never been a member before, dues
would be $138.75 (which
includes initiation fees
and $2.00 convenience fee) for the first quarter of your membership and then $38.75 per
quarter.
Youth - Students (under 21)do not pay initiation fees.
